After more than 20 years of witnessing the lack of diversity within our industry, we decided that participating in one more Career Day at a high school would simply not be enough. So we decided to give a few high schools a job to do.

“The Big Pitch” matches inner city public high school students with advertising professionals for the purpose of participating in good-spirited competition. With a common client and marketing objective put before them, student teams pitch their ideas against one another for bragging rights, prizes and the chance to see their ideas produced.

We enroll the kids in after school classes, connect them to mentors and – along the way – expose them to careers in the business they might not have otherwise considered. Since its start in 2005, the Big Pitch has engaged dozens of students, fostered mentoring relationships and even picked up a prestigious Mosaic Award from the American Advertising Federation (AAF) for being one of the best programs in the country at promoting the profession to kids of color.
